WHAT IS A PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION, AND WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
- One-on-one fitness training is a personalized, individual total fitness program developed just for you.
- A Positive Motion client sees his/her trainer 1, 2, 3 or 4 times per week at times arranged between the client and trainer.
- All training begins with a postural and joint alignment assessment, strength, core stability and flexibility assessments, health history, exercise history and goals. This assessment is free.
- Based on your current health and fitness status, what your assessment tells us and what your goals are, we develop a fitness program for you.
- We not only create a program that your trainer works with you on, we also create a program that you do on your own, on your off days. This may include cardiovascular training, acceleration training, core stability, flexibility and/or pilates on our reformer/tower.
- All clients are encouraged to take our resting metabolic test, which is complimentary with each package of 6 sessions or more. This is a 15 minute test, breathing through a tube into the metabolic machine. We can then calculate exactly what your daily caloric requirements are, what 30 minutes of moderate exercise will burn and what an active day will add. With this information, a nutritional program can be designed for you, to compliment your fitness program, if weight loss or gain is one of your goals.
- Your trainer will teach you about how your muscles work to produce force, how they work to sustain good posture and how they work to create core stability. You will learn how to exercise to maximize your results even when you’re not with your trainer.
- Your trainer will motivate you to work to your best ability at each workout. He/she will encourage you to reach your fitness and wellness goals, helping you along the way.
